Dr. Chinnappan Baskar, a synthetic organic chemist, received his M. Sc. Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT M). He has completed his PhD in Conjugated Polymers from the Department of Chemistry, National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. He joined the faculty in the Department of Chemistry, Lovely Professional University (LPU) as Reader/Assistant Professor. He was the Coordinator of the Department. He is currently working as Brain Korean 21 (BK21) Research Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology, Myongji University, South Korea.

He has supervised 11 M. Phil students and 11 M. Sc. Students (Regular/Honors). He has published few research papers with others in reputed chemistry international journals. He was invited to attend and deliver lectures/seminars in international and national conferences. He was also invited speaker for workshops organized by Department of Science and Technology (DST). Dr. Baskar visited USA, Japan and Canada.

He serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of Akivoc e-Journal (USA), Bioinformation Journal, and Bioethics Forum (Singapore). He was a member of international advisory committee for Indo-US Science and Technology Forum Workshop on Green Chemistry, and student advisor for Chemistry Graduate Club, Department of Chemistry, NUS, Singapore. He has served as the Editor of Science Today and NanoScience Today. He was the founding Chief Editor of The Graduate Reminiscences, A Publication of Science Graduate Committee (SGC), Faculty of Science, NUS, Singapore. He was the founding President of Science Graduate Committee, NUS, Singapore.

Dr. Baskar research interests include the synthetic organic chemistry, conducting polymers, and Green Chemistry. His research group is currently focusing on green chemical transformations, preparation of biodiesel, chemical and biosensors.

He has been member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society, American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry and Material Research Society, USA.

Dr. Baskar has a great passion for research, teaching and innovation. Many of his quotations were highlighted in magazines and websites. One of his popular quotations was "With the spirit of love, dedication, will power, creativity, and hard work; everything is possible in the world."
